Standard Lory Fruit Mix

To Prepare: place parrot pellets (any pelleted parrot food is sufficient) into a shallow bowl and pour warm water over them just until they are covered. Allow the pellets to soak for 10-30 minutes (this soaking time varies with pellet size and relative hardness). Once the pellets are softened, place small portions into a blender with portions of the other ingredients and grind thoroughly. Pour mixture into a large bowl and mix well with a hand-held mixer. Divide into smaller portions and freeze up to 90 days or refrigerate for 4 days. Makes approximately 1 gallon.

To Serve: mix 1 part fruit mix to 1.5 parts warm or cool water in the blender. Sprinkle vitamins or probiotics (live bacterial cultures) into the bowl before pouring the fruit slurry as needed. Serve.
