August 2003 -- ASCEND program at the American Museum of Natural History. I presented a talk to high school kids where I talked about how I decided to become a scientist and also showed them some of my Postdoc research data on lory phylogeny.

April 2002 -- bird watching field trip guide for the Arboretum Foundation's annual bird walk at the Seattle Arboretum.
Autumn Quarter 2001, Spring & Summer Quarters 2002 -- bird watching field trip guide for freshman biology students in the "Diversity of Life" series with the Biology Department at the University of Washington. All field trips were held at the Montlake Fill, on the UW campus, where we saw many beautiful birds.
August 2001 -- American Ornithologist's Union Meeting at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Presented one chapter of my dissertation research as a poster. Summer 2001 -- Volunteer for Seattle Audubon Society's "Nature Camp" where I was a nature guide; showing birds and other animals to the kids.
May 2001 -- Canadian Parrot Symposium West (Vancouver, British Columbia). Invited Speaker: "Male or Female? Using modern technology to identify gender of birds."
